CARTA ABERTA DO MIC – MOVIMENTO DE INTERVENÇÃO CÍVICA
A TODAS AS NAÇÕES, A TODOS OS POVOS, A CADA CIDADÃO:

UM APELO UNIVERSAL À PAZ - UM SAPATO PELA PAZ

Num tempo em que a humanidade já deveria ter aprendido com os escombros da sua própria História, assistimos ao reforço das fronteiras com arame, ao desfile de armas em nome da “segurança” e ao silenciar de vozes civis sob o estrondo das bombas.

A militarização das nações não oferece proteção real. Apenas semeia o medo, alimenta a desconfiança e prepara o terreno para conflitos cada vez mais devastadores. Nenhum míssil é capaz de garantir o futuro. Nenhum tanque ensina a tolerância. Nenhuma bala pode reconciliar um povo.

A falsa promessa de segurança baseada na força bélica é uma miragem que arrasta o mundo para o abismo. Povos invadidos podem ver os seus territórios tomados, mas nunca o seu espírito. A dignidade não se ocupa com tropas. A liberdade não se bombardeia. E a resistência de um povo não se mede por arsenais, mas pela sua capacidade de amar, proteger, reconstruir e resistir.

O MIC – Movimento de Intervenção Cívica ergue hoje a sua voz por uma causa que nos une a todos: a Paz. Uma paz verdadeira, firme, desarmada e livre.

Fazemos um apelo incondicional e global à Paz.

E convocamos todos os cidadãos do mundo, de qualquer nação, religião ou ideologia, a aderirem a um movimento de não violência ativa, de solidariedade transversal, de desobediência à lógica da guerra.

Como? Com um gesto simples, mas poderoso.

A partir de hoje, escolhe um sapato velho, branco ou pintado de branco, e coloca-o à tua porta, na varanda, ou numa praça pública.

Que este "Sapato pela Paz" represente o nosso caminho coletivo rumo à convivência.

Um sapato sem marcha militar. Um sapato civil, desgastado de caminhar, mas firme no chão da esperança. Um sapato solitário que, quando multiplicado por milhares, por milhões, formará a mais pacífica procissão alguma vez vista: a da Humanidade em direção ao futuro.

Se os governos não cessam fogo, que sejamos os povos a acender luzes.

Não em nosso nome. Não com o nosso silêncio.

A Paz não se espera. Constrói-se.

OPEN LETTER FROM THE MIC - MOVEMENT FOR CIVIC INTERVENTION
TO ALL NATIONS, ALL PEOPLE, EVERY CITIZEN:
A UNIVERSAL CALL FOR PEACE – 1 SHOE FOR PEACE

At a time when humanity should have learned from the rubble of its own History, we are witnessing the reinforcement of borders with wire, the parade of weapons in the name of “security” and the silencing of civilian voices under the thunder of bombs.

The militarization of nations offers no real protection. It only sows fear, fuels mistrust and prepares the ground for increasingly devastating conflicts. No missile can guarantee the future. No tank can teach tolerance. No bullet can reconcile a people.

The false promise of security based on military force is a mirage that drags the world into the abyss. Invaded peoples may see their territories taken, but never their spirit. Dignity is not occupied with troops. Freedom is not bombed. And a people's resistance is not measured by arsenals, but by their capacity to love, protect, rebuild and resist.

Today, the MIC - Movimento de Intervenção Cívica (Civic Intervention Movement) is raising its voice for a cause that unites us all: peace. A true, firm, unarmed and free peace.

We make an unconditional and global appeal for peace.

And we call on all citizens of the world, of any nation, religion or ideology, to join a movement of active non-violence, of transversal solidarity, of disobedience to the logic of war.

How? With a simple but powerful gesture.

Starting today, choose an old shoe, white or painted white, and place it on your doorstep, on your balcony or in a public square.

May this "Shoe for Peace" represent our collective journey towards coexistence.

A shoe without a military march. A civilian shoe, worn out from walking, but firm on the ground of hope. A solitary shoe that, when multiplied by thousands, by millions, will form the most peaceful procession ever seen: that of Humanity towards the future.

If governments don't stop burning, let the people light the way.

If armies are moving towards conflict, let us be the ones moving towards each other.
